Well, it is coming and going just like last year. We are in week two for this new decade, new year, new whatever you want to label it. Are you on your fitness path yet? Have you started a blueprint plan to see exactly what you need to accomplish to hit your targets this year?
Hardest thing is making time for myself, given that I’m a working mom and running from rink to rink with my boys. Its
trying to balance all that and finding the time and energy to incorporate some time for myself in the day to workout.
Have you ever wondered why you cannot keep doing the same thing over and over and achieve different results? That, I have been told, is the definition of insanity. In my opinion if you try to follow the same “Diet” or “Guru Fitness Routine” and try nothing else….you will achieve the same results as someone carrying out the same action. We are officially half-way through summer! Wow, can you believe it??
However you look at it, if you have not taken my advice in the past year…….start now.
Last January I wrote a blogpost stating you should have started your fitness goals then for the summer.
Then I wrote another in April mentioning you should start for this Fall back then. Another great question, this one from Erminia:
How do you optimize your fitness level (cardio, strength, flexibility), while ensuring you’ll be injury free (or almost ensuring). Often times I would like to train towards something like the Ride to Conquer Cancer etc. and am held back because I worry that I will pay for the extra training with my body (back).
Having incorporated Yoga, and using things like chiro, osteo, bowen, massage, accupuncture in my life are tools I thought would really keep me injury free for years. Although I’ve not really experienced anything major, I don’t like to be held back.
Is this just something one has to accept at the ripe young age of 44, or do you have tricks up your sleeve you’d like to share? I’m hoping you have a long sleeved shirt on, and not a tank top – ha!

“I’m at work until 5 p.m. every day, when and what should I eat before leaving work to ensure that I am feeling alert and energenic enough to work out when I get home around 6:00 or 6:30? I struggle with feeling tired and hungry when I get home which makes the choice between working out and having dinner a tough one.”

Wow, one week after doing my all-time best DB Curls with 50lbs I had my buddy Irv spot me and I think he did not help but I did 4 reps each arm. Feeling great and alive in 2009, thanks for everyone who has supported me and is a member of this blog.
I will be posting something on July 17 that is a bit of a surprise. Stay tuned for that one.
