Since yesterday was indulgence day what do you think today was? Protein, good carbs, fruits and veggies and water. Throw in some supplements and cardio plus a muscle conditioning workout and you have a healthy day back on track.
This is what it is all about folks. My lifetime goal once again for those who forgot:
“My goal is to consistently keep practicing healthy habits the majority of the time and only occasionally allow for indulgence. This is my lifetime goal that will propel me forward and move me toward all of my health, fitness and lifetime goals.” Read more... (152 words, 0 images, estimated 36 secs reading time)

Today was my day, my day to indulge and enjoy food that I do not normally consume too much of in any given month of the year. Want to know what I had?
Apple pie, mmmmmmmmmm, it was good and I don’t feel a bit guilty since I spent the 5 days prior to today, Mother’s day, eating very clean and healthy food.
So, moral of being consistently disciplined and eating healthy the majority of the time and allowing for the occasional indulgence, it feels good and it’s good for you!!

Hey Everyone,
Even though it is Easter Sunday tomorrow my gym is open and I intend to go for a quick workout. Then when I get home and have my planned indulgent meal everything will be copacetic. I hope everyone is enjoying a fabulous weekend that makes this time of the year even more special.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow and remember to stay healthy.

Have I ever answered the question how do I eat healthy all the time? Yes I have, many times per week.
Simply put, I am very organized. I plan and organize my nutrition just like I do for my workouts. They are actual appointments in my life schedule.
I schedule my workouts usually every Sunday night because I generally know what my week is going to look like, and if I need to I can always change on the fly like I did today when a client cancelled I used his slot to workout and get paid doing it instead of waiting until the end of the day when I was going to go to the gym on my way home. OK, many people have been asking “What kind of snacks can I have if I like something crunchy?”
I have found and eat two in particular:
1. Mary’s Organic Crackers: Organic, wheat-free, gluten-free, no added oils or fats. If you eat 13 of these flat “toonie-sized” crackers you are only consuming 140 calories. Very satisfying and very healthy ingredients. About 7 different flavors.
2. Suzie’s Whole Grain Thin Cakes: puffed rice cakes about 1/3 the thickness of a regular rice cake and very tasty about 4-6 different flavors. You can have three of these to equal one of the old-style rice cakes for 57 calories. Read more... (131 words, 0 images, estimated 31 secs reading time)

Wow! It is the end of the first quarter of the year 2009. Who feels it went quickly? Everyone always says “time flys”, where did that month go? and similar feelings about any given year in general. Well, it does not have to mean your health and fitness is going to wait until time slows down, because it just seems like it never will. What if you thought, I know time flys and I know I cannot get the last three months of my life back but I am going to look ahead and treat the next three months differently. Read more... Have you ever stopped to think what you do when your children are young and keeping you uber-busy? You seem to put their lives first, they get to go to dance class, they are going over to their friends or cousins to play and if you stop to reflect for a minute you may not be doing even half the exercise your children are doing.
So what are you going to wait for? When they are 18 and ready to move out or onto University? Too many people cannot grasp that starting a good healthy habit then maintaining it is the type of discipline needed to be a good role model as well as the necessary habits to keep you strong and healthy so you can enjoy your children even more. OK all you health and fitness buffs, who’s ready to take on the challenge of getting super-healthy and fit in 12 weeks? I have participated and hosted a dozen Life Wellness challenges and it seems the people who become the healthy and fit ones at the end of the challenge made a very crucial decision right up front. They chose not to have any excuses or any other options available but to become a healthier individual over 12 weeks.
I know we all have busy schedules and lifestyles but we also waste a tonne of time and put absolutely no effort into changing the things in our lives that are going to kill us in the end. Read more... (327 words, 0 images, estimated 1:18 mins reading time)

Many people have been ill this past winter, did you catch anything?
I was really lucky to have gotten away with a couple of minor sinus issues but some people were not so lucky.
One question I am always asked and have replied to with the exact same response is “Should I workout when I am sick? Or put another way, When is it not good to workout when I am sick?
