Health and fitness and fitness training outside.  It’s gorgeous outside now in Canada.  Get outside for your health and fitness routines.  Why don’t you take your favorite fitness event and get going now.  Let’s not wait for the perfect weather to get healthier and fitter.  Let’s do it now.

I really am fortunate to have been in the health and fitness industry where my clients ask me to help them get healthy and fit by participating in exercise with them.

I know my health and wellness levels are better for it and I know not everyone has this hidden advantage but come on, if you like rainbows you gotta put up with the rain first, right?

Health Fitness Spring and The Lucky Number 13…

Well All Fitness and Health Enthusiasts.  Guess what time it is?  It’s two days away from SPRING!  Yep, two days.  Guess how many weeks away from Summer?  You guessed it……13!  In my Italian culture the number 13 is a lucky number.  Why don’t you make it yours too.  Begin today to commit to getting fit by the time summer arrives.  

13 weeks to get fit??  Well, you could be on your way to becoming fit or at least make some headway to developing better health and fitness habits.

Health and Fitness On A Busy Day…

Ever wonder what it would be like the week after your “next” child is born?  Well, I had to SQUEEZE in three workouts this past week instead of the typical 5 or 6.  Today should have been an early workout but……….it’s going to be a late one.  My wife and the baby were up a few extra feeds overnight so today is Papa and older daughter day.  However, want to know what we did?  We played, I mean we played everything you could think of….

1. Running up and down the hallway

2. Jumping on the mini-trampoline

Health and Fitness Into March

Two months have gone by and now we’re into March.  Who is still around at your health club that was a new member January 1st?

I know it’s touch and go for a lot of people this past winter.  We had a brutally cold one.  However, we live in Canada, get over it and keep thinking of what’s around the corner……..Spring…….then……Summer……..are you ready for it?

Do you have the necessary habits in place to look different in a summer dress or a pair of shorts and tank top?

Fit in Fitness Where & When You Can…

I was in between clients today and got a call stating my client had an important phone call she needed to take so I told her I would get to her house and wait for her in her gym.  While there I had a 20 minute interval training session on her treadmill.  Then I only had strength conditioning to do.  

Moral, fit in your exercise whenever and wherever you can.  I am a tad busier now with a second child but enjoying it very much.  This is where I need to be flexible, figuratively and in life, to workout when the opportunity arises.

Should I workout or drive my wife to the hospital……….

I chose to end my workout very abruptly on Saturday February 28 when my wife called and said 
“You can finish your workout but I think my water broke”!!

Yeah right, finish my workout.  How nice is my wife.  Thinking of me at a time when she was (not knowing at the time) 2.5 hours away from delivering our second daughter.

Well, it was fast and not so furious.  Gisele D’Assisi was formally introduced to our world on Saturday February 28 at 11:56am.

She is doing fabulously well.  

So the next day, Sunday, I did not workout.

Health and Fitness into March…

Well health and fitness buffs.  We are approaching the last few days, actually two days, of February.  That’s two months into 2009 already!  Have you made any progress toward your health and fitness goals for this year??

Health and Fitness and Sleep Patterns…

Health and Fitness and Sleep Patterns, what is so important about sleep anyway?  No really, what is so important?  If you were sleep deprived for a long period of time you would not function very well and you may even slip into a very susceptible low immune state.  Constantly getting sick, irritable and simply not able to focus on any aspect of life.  Being healthy and fit helps but you need your sleep especially nREM sleep cycled with REM sleep.  I am in the process of writing an ebook and learning a lot about sleep and the importance of sleep related to helping babies since we are due with our second in just three weeks and a few days.  Anyway, stay tuned to this blog and if you get a chance check out http://www.getyourbabytosleep.com and sign up for your free report.

Q: How do I create a plan to work on my core muscles that is simple and that I can do at home in an hour or so? Please keep in mind that I have no extra money to join a gym or program.

A: First of all-you don’t need a gym membership and your time for commitment to work your core muscles is great but you only need a couple of tips and maybe only 20 minutes a few times per week.
