Fit in Fitness Where & When You Can…

I was in between clients today and got a call stating my client had an important phone call she needed to take so I told her I would get to her house and wait for her in her gym.  While there I had a 20 minute interval training session on her treadmill.  Then I only had strength conditioning to do.  

Moral, fit in your exercise whenever and wherever you can.  I am a tad busier now with a second child but enjoying it very much.  This is where I need to be flexible, figuratively and in life, to workout when the opportunity arises.

Should I workout or drive my wife to the hospital……….

I chose to end my workout very abruptly on Saturday February 28 when my wife called and said 
“You can finish your workout but I think my water broke”!!

Yeah right, finish my workout.  How nice is my wife.  Thinking of me at a time when she was (not knowing at the time) 2.5 hours away from delivering our second daughter.

Well, it was fast and not so furious.  Gisele D’Assisi was formally introduced to our world on Saturday February 28 at 11:56am.

She is doing fabulously well.  

So the next day, Sunday, I did not workout.

Health and Fitness into March…

Well health and fitness buffs.  We are approaching the last few days, actually two days, of February.  That’s two months into 2009 already!  Have you made any progress toward your health and fitness goals for this year??

Health and Fitness and Sleep Patterns…

Health and Fitness and Sleep Patterns, what is so important about sleep anyway?  No really, what is so important?  If you were sleep deprived for a long period of time you would not function very well and you may even slip into a very susceptible low immune state.  Constantly getting sick, irritable and simply not able to focus on any aspect of life.  Being healthy and fit helps but you need your sleep especially nREM sleep cycled with REM sleep.  I am in the process of writing an ebook and learning a lot about sleep and the importance of sleep related to helping babies since we are due with our second in just three weeks and a few days.  Anyway, stay tuned to this blog and if you get a chance check out http://www.getyourbabytosleep.com and sign up for your free report.  

Health and Fitness Thaw?

So……who here has the February Blues/Blahs/Blucks?? Whatever you call it, many of my blog subscribers are saying they have fallen off the health and fitness wagon!!  It is only February 12 people, what is going on?  I will share with you what seems to happen all the time around mid-February.  If you feel you have given up and have nowhere to turn, you have not yet understood WHY you are working out or eating healthy??  WHY are you doing this?  If you don’t have a big enough WHY then the How’s cannot come close to being solved.  If you know WHY you are or wish you are tyring to make a change for the better in the areas of health and fitness then the How’s will always find their way to help you out, but not a minute before if you continue to just wish you were healthier and fitter just for the hell of it!  If your long-term health and fitness plan doesn’t include maintaining the healthiest fitness, nutrition, sleep, stress management habits (just to name a few) you need to develop to be in optimal wellness shape…..you are wasting your time!!  Keep in mind what you plan for usually ends up happening so if you plan to succeed in the health and fitness realm, you will but if don’t plan, well, you guessed it, you won’t succeed.

Sleep Habits….Health & Nutrition & Fitness

Hey who has a great sleep pattern and habits??  I know this one area of my life is probably by far the number one area that is responsible for how I feel on every level:  Mental, Physical, Emotional, Spiritual and whatever other levels you can think of including.

I am searching for people’s input to write a guide for sleep habits and patterns.  I am especially interested in parents who have had newborns in the last 10 years and what their tricks, tips and techniques are or have been to have a healthier baby, toddler and beyond.  What wisdom can you all share with me so the sleep guide is a killer information product??

Health & Fitness February…..

Hello fitness enthusiasts.  Well, it’s February 1st tomorrow, Superbowl Sunday–what are you going to do??  Are you gonna let the chili, chips, beer, peanuts, 1 billion wings, 8 million pounds of guacamole and pretzels take over or are you going to do what I intend to do?  I am going to get into the gym in the morning after a very clean and healthy breakfast, then I will visit my good friend Dave who is very fit and has a six pack at 40 and my daughter will play with his three boys for a couple of hours while Dave and I visit and maybe, maybe watch 10 minutes of the game.  You see, what is important to us now is not sitting and gorging on crappy food and beer, but rather to have a great quality friendship and possibly enjoy a few minutes of Superbowl, that’s it.  I am very happy to hear how everyone else does on Monday, if you have the guts to be honest?!?
